The Caboose is Loose (Musical CD of Original Children’s Songs)

The Schirm Firm helped support the “Caboose Is Loose” project by Bill and Joe Carey.

The mysterious, fun-loving, multi-instrumental Loose Caboose Band is made up of Chicago-based brothers Bill and Joe Carey. Real estate investors/ property managers by day and musician/songwriters by night, the Carey Brothers created the Loose Caboose Band back in 1997 in order to record and perform their fun, finger-snapping “caboose-tastic” original songs for children. Their first CD, “The Caboose is Loose,” was released in 2000 and is still available (as a complete CD or in individual song downloads) at CDBaby.com, Amazon.com or iTunes . Two of the songs on this CD (“Toothbrush Train” and “Pumpkin Time”) advanced to the next round of judging in the 2006 International Songwriting Competition in Nashville, Tennessee.)

Here are some comments about “The Caboose Is Loose” CD:

The CD is amazing. My kids love it. My kids listen to a lot of folksy stuff like Arlo & Woody Guthrie, as well as Raffi. My oldest child is a “train-guy” and he just loves it! He was going through your words and everything… my daughter was dancing… they want to hear it on the way to school… It’s quite an accomplishment… I’ll treasure it.

Thank you for the CD! We love it! We love “Toothbrush Train” and “Big Boy.”

How lucky we are to have your first CD!… Our son Ryan (20 months old) knows all the songs, and depending on what he’s doing, he’s got lots of favorites… Thanks for providing us with great entertainment and lots of wonderful memories!

The Carey brothers are real-estate managers by day but like to rock and roll and sing and dance, too. With the pianos, guitars, trumpets, bodhran and doumbek drums and didgeridoos of the Rootin’ Tootin’ Loose Caboose Band, they put together a CD of their original songs for kids. Their catchy melodies should have both kids and parents smiling.
